I took these photos walking around the art museum. Getting close to the sculptures made me realize just how detailed and expressive they are.
I think that photographers in Philadelphia are required to take this photograph by law.
I was asked to photograph some Philadelphia Icons in a new way. When you have a sculpture like this, that EVERYONE photographs, it’s hard to think of a totally new way to photograph it. Though I’m sure someone, somewhere has done this before, I thought this was, at least, interesting, a meeting of old and new. The horse marching forward on a glass monument, riding upward.
